The main event for Western Montana Freedom Day 2007 was the dedication of the US Highway 93 bridge over the Flathead River, at its outlet from Flathead Lake in Polson MT. It is now officially the Armed Forces Memorial Bridge.
Entertainment included vintage aircraft and helicopter flyovers, static displays of military vehicles, skydivers jumping over Polson and landing at Linderman school, MT 89th Horse Cavalry drill exercise, Bop-A-Dips concert, and fireworks at dark.
The Miracle of America Musuem showed 5 vintage military vehicles on static display:
1943 "Freedom Truck" WC62.
6X6 1-1/2 ton Dodge weapons and personnel carrier.
1971 Gama Goat 1-1/4 ton Cargo Truck M561.
6x6 or 2 wheel drive - amphibious, 353 c.i.d. Detroit (Jimmy) Diesel.
1978 M106 A2 Tracked 107 mm Mortar Carrier.
It uses a V-6 Detroit Diesel. We have used this in many Memorial Day and other parades. It is noisy but very smooth riding. The .50 cal. machine gun is a non-working replica.
M151 Jeep with the markings of the "Rat Patrol."
Includes a center mounted M60 machine gun.
1968 1/2 ton Cargo Truck M274-A5 (MULE) 4x4.
With deactivated 106 mm recoilless rifle, .50 cal. spotting rifle, and infrared night scope.
